Who Is Chuck Grassley

Chuck Grassley was selected to serve as Iowa’s state Senator and represent the state in the United States Senate. Senator Grassley is a Republican Senator who was first elected to the Senate in 1981. Since his initial election, he has been repeatedly reelected to represent Iowa in the U.S. Senate.
Prior to being elected to serve on the Senate, Senator Grassley served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a member of a number of Senate Committees, including the Committee on Finance, the Judiciary Committee, the Committee of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, and the Budget Committee. In addition, he was appointed to be the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee. He is an influential individual within the U.S. Senate and is trusted by the residents of Iowa to represent their concerns.
Senator Grassley is a family farmer, and therefore, he is concerned with agriculture and rural development. As agriculture is an important economic sector in Iowa, this is also an important concern of many Iowa residents. Senator Grassley seeks to improve conditions faced by farmers, and promote and maintain agriculture, by shaping tax and trade policies that impact farming and agriculture.
Senator Grassley recognizes the necessity of energy independence and is a strong support of investing in renewable energy sources. He helped to promote wind energy production, by creating federal tax incentives for manufacturers within this field. The creation of facilities for this purpose has created thousands of jobs throughout Iowa.
