Chuck Grassley was selected to serve as Iowa’s state Senator and represent the state in the United States Senate. Senator Grassley is a Republican Senator who was first elected to the Senate in 1981. Since his initial election, he has been repeatedly reelected to represent Iowa in the U.S. Senate.
Prior to being elected to serve on the Senate, Senator Grassley served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is a member of a number of Senate Committees, including the Committee on Finance, the Judiciary Committee, the Committee of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, and the Budget Committee. He helped to promote wind energy production, by creating federal tax incentives for manufacturers within this field. The creation of facilities for this purpose has created thousands of jobs throughout Iowa.
