Ted Kennedy
Ted Kennedy was well known for being a prominent member of the widely recognized Kennedy family. Senator Kennedy had an extensive political career, serving in the United States Senate for a substantial portion of his life. He was widely respected, and therefore, he was repeatedly reelected to represent the state of Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate. He was a liberal Democrat who fought for civil rights and universal health care.  

John Kerry
For John Kerry, Senator Elections resulted in a close defeat of the opposing candidate. As a result, John Kerry acquire a seat in the United States Senate, representing the state of Massachusetts. Senator Kerry became a nationally recognized figured when he was elected to be the Democratic candidate in the presidential elections in 2004, which he ultimately lost to the Republican nominees, George W. Bush.
